THE HOMANS TO THE ROMANS

"...NOW THEN WE ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST... 2 COR 5:20"

March 9, 2004

SUBJECT: LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR BRO. JAMIE HOMAN

To Whom It May Concern: Bro. Jamie Homan has been an active member of Bible Believers Baptist Church, Madison, Al. since he trusted Christ in Oct. 1991. Since this time Jamie has grown spiritually to a mature, well rounded Christian man.
After much thought, prayer, and counsel Jamie has surrendered to be a missionary to Rome, Italy. It is my opinion that if he continues in Rome what he has done here over the years, he will be an excellent ambassador for Christ and I whole heartily recommend him for your consideration for support.
Bro. Homan has been a great help to our church. He not only makes himself available for what I might ask him to do, he looks for things that need to be done and does them. He is actively involved in the ministries of the church, including teaching Sunday school, preaching at the local jails, prisons, nursing homes, rescue mission, and on the street. He is a bold witness for Jesus Christ and has an excellent handle on the word of God.
Over the years Jamie has been involved in our youth ministry at church, which included taking the young people street preaching, witnessing, and passing out tracts locally as well as on special “tracting” trips to Nashville and Atlanta. He also teaches the young men’s Sunday school class.
Jamie preaches early every Sunday morning before church at the Decatur City Jail, Morgan County Jail, and the Athens City Jail. Several men have come to know the Lord because of his faithful witness in this endeavor. Not only does Jamie go to the jails in the area but he is also involved in the prison ministry. He has been able to go to the local prison here on a regular basis and to other prisons in the state as well.
Once per month Jamie joins the members of the church in ministering to the elderly at a local nursing home through preaching, witnessing and encouraging the saved residents.
Jamie has been an encouragement to me by being faithful in his public witness by preaching on the streets of Huntsville every April through October. He also brings his family to these meetings and they are unashamed to publicly witness and pass out tracts as he preaches.
It is apparent by being in Bro. Homan’s home that he is the head of the house, he loves his wife, and his children are in scriptural subjection to him.
He has always submitted to my spiritual leadership as his pastor. In my years of knowing him he has never been petty, nit-picky, or backbiting. He has always been eager to help me and has contented himself with being a servant.
Bro. Homan lived in Rome while stationed there as a Marine and was a witness during that time. I am confident that by God’s grace he and his family will be greatly used by the Lord as He sees fit.

Sincerely in Christ,

William A. Grant, Pastor
