As we believe the Lord would have us go to Rome these are the mission goals we have prayed about thus far.
1.)
To evangelize the local sinner by the following means:
Gospel Tract Distribution
Door to Door Witnessing
Publick Preaching
2.) Start an English speaking, Bible Believing, Independent, Baptist Church.
The City of Rome has a population of approximately 3,550,900 (metro. area), 2,455,600 (city proper)
To the best of our knowledge the closest, English Speaking, Independent Baptist church is nearly two and a half hours from Rome.
Rome has an English speaking population larger than that of a small town.
English is a common language known by most, especially the younger generation.
If we only ministered in Italian we would miss the opportunity to minister to those that do speak English.
3.) Train locals to reach their own people with the gospel.
This is a principle needed to be instilled in every believer as we are all Ambassadors for Christ.(2 Cor 5:20)
4.) Start an Italian, Bible Believing, Independent, Baptist churches, and then turn these works over to a trained local Pastors.
This I believe is the scriptural New Testament example as set forth by the Apostle Paul.
This is the main, long term objective of this effort. When the missionary leaves the field the work is finished, unless there are men that the Lord can use to continue the work.(2 Tim 2:1-2)
5.) Printing
Bibles
Gospel Tracts
Bible Study Literature
